Akyurt commenced his post-summer appreciation and congratulatory visits starting at high-density operational hubs. He emphasized that in July and August, the number of passengers served by TGS in Antalya increased by approximately 7 percent, and flight numbers rose by 3 percent compared to the same period last year. During the highly attended meetings, a wide range of topics was evaluated, spanning operational performance, digital transformation, promotion and human resources practices, as well as safety and quality processes.

TGS executives, who had previously visited airports with high seasonal traffic and tourism demand—such as Bodrum, Dalaman, and Antalya—at the start of the season to wish teams success, initiated this round of congratulatory meetings following the conclusion of the summer period.

"Antalya is a Unique Field Operationally"

Making his first visit to Antalya within this scope, TGS General Manager Assoc. Prof. Ibrahim Zeki Akyurt pointed out that Antalya represents a challenging operational environment not only due to high passenger and flight volumes, but also because of summer climate conditions. Meeting with colleagues across different shifts during their working hours, Akyurt noted that the visit carried a special meaning in terms of celebrating the efforts of teams who contributed to the success of a busy season.

Akyurt stated that TGS’s work in ground handling—driven by a focus on operational excellence—contributes to the sustainability of tourism dynamics and the national economy, emphasizing the critical role of service quality in maintaining an efficient air transportation chain.

A Competency-Based Approach to Human Resources

Addressing TGS’s recruitment and assignment processes during the gathering, Akyurt noted that recruitment and promotion decisions combine internationally recognized competency-based tests with foundational, leadership, and functional metrics alongside specific position requirements.

Human Centricity at the Core of Digital Transformation

Addressing TGS’s digital transformation efforts, Akyurt said: "Humans are at the center of our digitalization approach. We view technology as a tool that facilitates our colleagues' work, strengthens field experience, and makes our operations safer, more measurable, and more efficient."

Emphasis on a "Just Culture" Approach

In line with TGS’s "Just Culture" framework, audit and reporting processes aim to identify risks before incidents occur, effectively evaluate feedback coming from the field, and convert every finding into an operational improvement opportunity.

It was underscored that a robust safety culture remains sustainable through awareness, open communication, effective reporting mechanisms, and the timely sharing of risks.

Meetings to Continue Across Different Airports

The meetings initiated in Antalya will continue at other stations where TGS operates, primarily focusing on airports that experienced high operational intensity during the summer season.
