Following the formal notification submitted to Congress by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the proposed acquisition aims to enhance the operational capabilities and strategic mobility of the Norwegian Army and Special Forces, particularly in harsh Arctic conditions.
The procurement package includes 46 T700-GE-701D engines, advanced missile warning systems, infrared countermeasure systems, radar warning receivers, communication and navigation equipment, and M240H machine guns.
Lockheed Martin subsidiary Sikorsky will serve as the principal contractor for the program. Defense officials emphasized that the prospective sale will reinforce military interoperability between the two nations and strengthen NATO's deterrence posture in Northern Europe.
