Noting that ASFAT currently exports to more than 20 countries, Heybet stated that ongoing efforts are focused on driving this figure even higher.

Highlighting Turkey's rapid growth in the defense industry, Heybet emphasized that ASFAT continues to enhance the capabilities of military factories and shipyards, modernize existing infrastructure, and equip products with cutting-edge technologies.

A400M maintenance capabilities and international partnerships

Addressing aviation operations, Heybet announced that an agreement has been reached with Airbus regarding the maintenance of A400M military transport aircraft.

Stating that maintenance requests from European Union member states and Turkic Republics are now being fulfilled in Turkey, Heybet noted that negotiations are underway with several countries to establish dedicated maintenance-repair lines and form joint ventures.

Heybet underscored that opening Turkey's maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) infrastructure to friendly and allied nations strengthens defense cooperation and serves the country's strategic interests.

Progress continues on the PN MILGEM project

Providing updates on the PN MILGEM Project for Pakistan, Heybet reported that under the four-corvette agreement, the two vessels built at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard have been delivered, while construction on the remaining two ships continues in Karachi.

Signed in 2018, the project entails building two corvettes in Istanbul and two at the Karachi Shipyard.

Expressing that Pakistan is highly satisfied with the project, Heybet added that ASFAT is actively conducting negotiations with other nations concerning warship construction and the delivery of these platforms integrated with Turkish defense systems.
